Bernard A. Kengla, L’1867 (? – February 18, 1891) founded a large tannery in Tucson, Arizona.
He enrolled in the Prep Division of Georgetown College in 1876. In 1885, he enrolled in the Law School and graduated with a bachelor of laws degree in 1887. He moved to Arizona and began a tannery with his brother William S. Kengla and Charles H. Roache, both of whom had also attended Georgetown. However, health issues required him to return to D.C. where he died in 1891.1
A cash prize established in his memory was awarded to the student in the Graduate School who had the second highest average marks.
