Reiss Science Building

The Reiss Science Building is an academic building that formerly housed Georgetown's science departments and labs. With the opening of Regents Hall in 2012, Reiss now houses various classrooms.

Name

The Reiss Science Building, initially known as the Reiss Science Center, was dedicated on October 14, 1962. The building was named for Raymond H. Reiss (CAS 1919), a Georgetown alumnus and prominent businessman1

Facilities

The Blommer Science Library occupies half of the third floor.

Renovations

In August and September 2016, the university decommissioned and demolished labs on the third floor of Reiss and removed asbestos2. In Fall 2022, preparations for fourth floor renovations in Reiss included further asbestos removal3.
