Xochitl Torres Small

Xochitl Torres Small (SFS 2007) is a Georgetown alumna, lawyer, and politician. A Democrat, she served as the United States Representative for New Mexico's 2nd District from 2019-2021. She currently serves as the Under Secretary for Rural Development within the United States Department of Agriculture

Small graduated from the School of Foreign Service in 2007. During the 116th Congress (2019 - 2021), she was one of 28 Georgetown alumni serving in Congress.1 Small was defeated in her reelection bid by Republican Yvette Herrell2. Small currently serves as the United States Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.
